I'm coming HOME!

only me, my camera and that beautiful city

Bonsoir!

My hostmum had a conference in Metz so I decided to go to see that beautiful town on my own. It was pretty much fun to play tourist alone. Should do that more often.

The map, which I didn't even actually use..

It's pretty bitter sweet how your imagination works. In the end anything can remember you of something. Especially when you miss something.
Windowshopping. The best thing to do on Sunday, when you can't buy anything.

Autumn break

Autumn break is finally (already) here!!

It's time to face the fact that winter is coming. First I heard that it's already snow in Finland and then today that it's happening also in France already. Time goes fast and today it was already pretty cold outside, it's funny actually - last week was still sunny and +25... But I like it, I also fed up with the dark autumn days in Finland!

I have now finally (or should I say already) autumn holiday and the best thing of it is that it's gonna last two weeks (yes I really said TWO!!). Today I slept long, I didn't even remember the time when I've went last time to sleep without putting my waker on. The whole day I have only enjoyed of beeing here, wroting letters and beeing outside. I take time to myself, I thought, dreamed and saw again that miracles does happen every single day. Sometimes you just have to first give up before the miracle happens. Whatever if it's about finding the missing ring or a someone who you thought you had already lost. There's a little magic everywhere, you only have to believe in it.

I needed to search my gloves..

It was finally time to write for my lovely friends :)

Yesterday when I came back home I saw when they started to put the Christmas lights on streets.

Walking alone it's like therapy. Some exchange students always tell how they grew up so much during the exchange year. I used to think that I'll find the answers for my questions about future during this year. But 'til now I've only get even more questions without answers.
Someone asked me why I always have a camera with me, even though the places are always the same, but they're not. I see all the seasons here only once and I want to remember always how it used to looks like. The view is changing every week.

Birds are flying away.

In case my lovely friend sees this: ''Es ist rot für euch!'', I thought of you. Actually aweful lot today.

''Sauf bus'' :D The point of the pic was that there are no leaves in the trees anymore, but my friends from Germany found the ''sauf bus'' plaque and we had pretty much fun... But it was accident that it end up to this pic too..

This is my home now, and I'm happy right now where I am.

Life's what you make it..

Bonsoir!

''Two months and it's Christmas, are you going back to Finland then?'' ''No, I stay here the whole year'' ''Really? How you're gonna survive?'' Many people have been pretty confused that I'm really gonna stay the whole year without going home or meeting my family. Well, it's almost seven weeks behind and as you can see until now I could say, I've survived pretty well.
The other pretty weird thing is that it's a fact that it really is only two months until it's Christmas. My friends are talking already about winter jackets, adventcalenders etc.. Are you serious? I haven't had even my autumn break yet! But well yeah, the truth is that the time goes faaaaaast!

It feels like it's been so long! Miss you all!

I talked with my friend who's also as an exchange student in France and we spoke how far away Finland feels to be and how weird thing is the idea of home and that someday it's gonna be the day that you're going home. (But luckily we still have our 8 months!!) :) It would be nice to see my exchange friends, they feel so close because they're in the same situation.
That's all I guess, nothing new, nothing special. It's still warm & cosy and I'm still safe & sound! Two days until the holiday starts!

"I am an exchange student. How do you know what is a dream if you never accomplished one. How do you know what is an adventure if you never took part in one. How do you know what is anguish if you never said goodbye to your family and friends with your eyes full of tears. How do you know what is being desperate, if you never arrived in a place alone and could not understand a word of what everyone else was saying. How do you know what is diversity if you never lived under the same roof with people from all over the world? How do you know what is tolerance, if you never had to get used to something different even if you didn’t like it. How do you know what is autonomy, if you never had the chance to decide something by yourself? How do you know what it means to grow ...
up, if you never stopped being a child to start a new course? How do you know what is to be helpless, if you never wanted to hug someone and had a computer scr
een to prevent you from doing it. How do you know what is distance, if you never, looking at a map, said “ I am so far away”. How do you know what is a language, if you never had to learn one to make friends. How do you know what is patriotism, if you never shouted “ I love my country” holding a flag in your hands. How do you know what is the true reality, if you never had the chance to see a lot of them to make one. How do you know what is an opportunity, if you never caught one. How do you know what is pride, if you never experienced it for yourself at realizing how much you have accomplished. How do you know what is to seize the day, if you never saw the time running so fast. How do you know what is a friend, if the circumstances never showed you the true ones. How do you know what is a family, if you never had one that supported you unconditionally . How do you know what are borders, if you never crossed yours , to see what there was on the other side. How do you know what is imagination, if you never thought about the moment when you would go back home. How do you know the world, if you have never been an exchange student?"
